Construction of Asse 5 shaft pushes back retrieval

Only once the new Asse 5 shaft and its winding apparatus have been constructed will it be possible to begin underground work on the retrieval mine and to prepare for retrieving the radioactive waste

Asse II mine: salt water once again being collected at the 658-metre level

Miners were able to expose a fissure in excavation 3 at the 658-metre level through which the influx of salt water is flowing. They set up a provisional system to collect the solution. This excavation was part of the former main collection point.
