Morsleben information centre

The Morsleben information centre is located in the immediate vicinity of the Morsleben repository. As well as housing an exhibition, the centre is also used to hold regular talks and events. Visiting the information centre is free.

The Morsleben information centre provides information on the history of the Morsleben repository, its geology, current work, planned decommissioning measures, and the status of the decommissioning process. You can visit the exhibitions to gain an initial overview of the site’s past and present, take a virtual tour of the mine using a VR headset, and resolve any questions you may have by consulting the information centre staff.

School classes can use the centre as an out-of-school learning destination to learn about the Morsleben repository or about the final disposal of radioactive waste in general. We’re also happy to come to you and provide information at your school, at your association, or on other occasions.

Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and by appointment

Inside the mine

As visitor tours of the mine are booked up for the foreseeable future, no new appointments are currently being allocated. During this time, underground visits to the Morsleben repository will only be possible in exceptional cases for people with a justified professional or political interest.

Alternatively, we also offer a virtual tour using VR headsets at the Morsleben information centre or online so that you can continue to learn about the Morsleben repository. The virtual tour of the mine reveals the status of the work through panoramic images.

If the above exception applies to you or you would like to make an appointment for a virtual tour or a surface visit to the construction site, please do not hesitate to contact us at: info-morsleben(at)bge.de.
